ACCOMMODATION

Stargazers B&B accommodation in the newly constructed main building consists of our premium 2 room unit with a main bedroom and adjacent private lounge.

The main bedroom features a queen sized bed in a unique setting with marble lined ensuite bathroom and walk-in shower.

The adjacent cosy lounge has a luxurious leather couch which can be opened out to form an additional queen bed if necessary. It has a separate private bathroom directly across the corridor with a walk-in shower. This room can be accessed from the main bedroom via either the large private deck or the internal corridor. The deck gives guests private external entry to both rooms.

RATES AND CONDITIONS

Rates: $225 / 200 (double / single) per night including continental breakfast. Up to 2 additional guests can be accommodated in the adjacent lounge at $175 / 150 (double / single) per night.

Complimentary stargazing tours on one night are also included in this rate for all guests, weather permitting.

Conditions: Minimum stay 2 nights; otherwise a single night surcharge of $50/bed will apply. Not suitable for children.

Cancellation Policy: Reservations cancelled within 7 days of arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. This rises to 100% during Christmas holiday season (December 25- January 5 inclusive).

Smoking Policy: Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and decks… we are in a high fire hazard area surrounded by native bush.
  FEATURES

Both rooms are supplied only with soft natural rainwater heated by solar panels on your roof and untarnished by the chlorine or other chemical additives found in most water supplies.

The floors of your room and the floors and walls of the bathrooms are lined with fossil-bearing marble tiles specially imported from Persia by Stargazers B&B.

French doors open out onto the expansive deck from both rooms. It is here that you will begin your optional night sky stargazing tour and in the morning where you will enjoy your continental breakfast, weather permitting. Steps at the end of the deck lead up to the main astronomy level with the large binocular telescope and 3.5m rotating observatory dome housing the main telescope.

Wood paneling, floors and doors throughout the facilities are constructed of preservative-free timber from a variety of trees, most of which were planted, grown and milled on the property by your hosts.

You will most probably wake to the sight and sounds of a range of native and migratory birds enjoying the bush clad hills. In the evening you might just be lucky enough to hear the call of the endangered nocturnal and flightless Kiwi. You will almost certainly hear and may even catch a glimpse of the native NZ owl, the Morepork.

Binoculars are provided in both rooms for you to do some bird watching or stargazing at your leisure with informative books and guides in the room to lead you on your adventure.
